I read this book over 30 years ago and wondered if I would find it as enjoyable. I wasn't disappointed, it was just as entertaining as I remembered. This truly has to go down as one of the best football books ever written. Imagine the chance as a fan to do what Mr. Plimpton did, to practice with a professional team and even get on the field and run a few plays. The author shows clearly just how scary that would really be and just how hard it is just to make a hand off due to the speed of the players. Even younger football fans who might not know who most of these players are will enjoy this book as it gives a view of the game and players seldom seen.
